I like to read books that make me think. Usually true stories, biographies and I love medically related books.

Glad you started this thread b/c I'm looking for a good book to start, too

I recommend anything by Richard Laymon. He was a horror book writer (he died a few years ago) and his books are so good and creepy! "Body Rides" is especially good!

I just started rereading the North & South trilogy by John Jakes for about the 5th time. It's about 2 families during the Civil War, one from the North and one from the South. I absolutely love those books!

I LOVE Richard Laymon!! Such a good read! Have you read the one about Jack the Ripper? Can't remember the title, but it was great!

I reading a Dean Koontz book at the moment, which are usually very good. Got the Phillip Pullman Dark Materials trilogy lined up next, should take me through to Christmas!

The Wolves of the Calla....Stephen King

It's 5th in the Dark Tower series, so you'd have to go back and read the others first!

I just finished "The Historian" and I was very disappointed.

Now I'm reading "The Burning Girl" and then "The Egyptologist."

I'm waiting for the end of the month for Diana Gabaldon's "A Breath of Snow and Ashes" to come out. I just love her series.

Finished that one, a couple of weeks ago. Excellent read.

Per another post, "The Historian" was a disappointment and certainly didn't live up the the hype, the HUGE advance OR the big movie option price.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. I need to read a classic for my Honors Comp/Lit class, and this one seems interesting enough.
