I haven't read this one, but will look out for it, for sure. I have read most of his stuff and thoroughly enjoy it. A lot is thriller stuff but well written, but a real turnaround for him was "Wish you Well", which was a completely amazing story, with excellent characters, too. I recommend it highly (and need to look it out to have another read -- it was that good.)
The Christmas Train. Santa brought it!
And it's lovely! Thanks for the recommendation!

Movin' on up!
Amazon.com delivered Stiletto this week. All of those pictures of gorgeous shoes had me drooling.

The library came through, with The Cat Who Went Bananas. That and a few others will get me through the week.

I'm reading Three Wishes right now and I really like it... but I'm scared to finish it because that means I have to look for a new book, and finding a book makes me nervous... it's important to get one that is gonna keep my attention, that is long so it doesn't end too fast and so on.

I'm searching on the internet for books from the "Cat Who.." series. Not much luck so far, new they are $32.95 and can't find any used just yet. I've just bid on a book which is the last in the Adrian Mole series. I love that series!

Ashley is doing well, though I haven't seen her in 3 weeks! I miss my baby girl! Hopefully, she'll join Daphne, Archimedes, Chris and I soon!

I just finished: Blades of War - by Excruicor.

http://www2.xlibris.com/bookstore/bo...p?bookid=27122

I loved it and although I was only going to read a chapter at a time, I couldn't stop once I got started. Considering it has around or over 425 pages, that took me awhile. It's medievil in theme and actually inspired by a very real MUD game called Medievia (www.medievia.com). Of course I play that game so for me it was even better

Something that is kind of neat is that I have actually chatted with the author online since he runs that MUD game's ingame/online newspaper. It's kind of neat to say, "Hey I know the guy that wrote this book!", grin. Of course, the book is a print on demand so its a little more pricey then the average paperback or hardcover, but the quality of the binding and print was stunning. I expected a rather poor excuse for a book at first and was very shocked and impressed when the writing turned out to be great and the book itself had a quality feel to it. I like things that last even if its a book I will only read a few times.

If you like medievial fantasy books, have been dying to try one or hate them with a passion, get this book and give it a read. You won't be disapointed, and I suspect you will end up craving the next book to come in the series as much as I am.

I can't remember if there was a cat in it or not..it was so good I guess I will have to re-read it and find out! *grin*

Yes Sam I have. I am no longer in California, but in Indiana, living with my new beau, Christopher. Things are going amazingly well, better than I had hoped. I hope all is well out there for you.

That sounds like a great book, one I would like. Welcome to TCS, and I noticed you are from my daddy's hometown!! Rochester, NY!

Daddy died in 1973, but I remember visists to his home.

If you get it I hope you find it as interesting and enjoyable as I have
If you like MUD (multi user dungeon) text (telnet) based games, give Medievia a try as well before, during or after reading Blades of War. It is a Free MUD and often has 300-500 people online wandering its millions of "rooms" in search of riches and fame.

Yep, I was born and raised here! I am sorry to hear of his passing, I was just a babe back then. The weather often leaves something to be desired during winter but most of the time its not to bad. I find it hard to think of living anywhere else, unless it was a very nice warm place without snow.

I just finished reading John Irving's novel, A Prayer for Owen Meany. This is an incredible read that everyone should experience first-hand!

... Oh, I also read the first book in the Lemony Snicket series last week. I'm off to start the second one!

A Prayer for Owen Meany is a good book, I'd recommend it as well.

Finished The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown this morning. A fun read, although I think I enjoyed Angels and Demons a little more.

Now back to reading Shantaram.

Now reading DaVinci Code - I think its a bit more faster paced than Angels and Demons, which I felt was a bit slow at the start.
