I just finished: Blades of War - by Excruicor.http://www2.xlibris.com/bookstore/bo...p?bookid=27122
I loved it and although I was only going to read a chapter at a time, I couldn't stop once I got started. Considering it has around or over 425 pages, that took me awhile. It's medievil in theme and actually inspired by a very real MUD game called Medievia (www.medievia.com
). Of course I play that game so for me it was even better
Something that is kind of neat is that I have actually chatted with the author online since he runs that MUD game's ingame/online newspaper. It's kind of neat to say, "Hey I know the guy that wrote this book!", grin. Of course, the book is a print on demand so its a little more pricey then the average paperback or hardcover, but the quality of the binding and print was stunning. I expected a rather poor excuse for a book at first and was very shocked and impressed when the writing turned out to be great and the book itself had a quality feel to it. I like things that last even if its a book I will only read a few times.
If you like medievial fantasy books, have been dying to try one or hate them with a passion, get this book and give it a read. You won't be disapointed, and I suspect you will end up craving the next book to come in the series as much as I am.
I can't remember if there was a cat in it or not..it was so good I guess I will have to re-read it and find out! *grin*
