Well today we just took our kitten Buddy to get his check up, the vet says he is perfectly fine, but through out the day he's been sleeping a lot and seemed to be out of it. The place we adopted him through said up to 30 days if anything is wrong with him that they'll take care of him. Is something wrong with him? Thanks for any help.

Being lethargic can be caused by SO many things. How did the vet determine he was fine? Physical exam? Blood work? X-rays? How long ago did you adopt him? Any other symptoms beside lethargy?

No blood work, just a physical exam - looked in his ears, checked his teeth, checked and felt his tummy, listened to his heart beat, and looked at his eyes - all was good.

Did this just start after his vet appointment? Sometimes a vet appointment or examination for a cat can be an exhausting thing to endure to be poked around and squeezed in odd ways. If it persists a few hours or other symptoms appear (watch his litter and how much food and/or water he's taking in), you can call the vet and let them know how he's acting.

Hi there my 20 month old kitty has the same thing no energy for a kitty under 2. She sleeps 12 hours a night. Gets up for an hour then sleeps another 14 hours. She also has a limp on her back right leg and trouble landing on all fours, up and down. After spending around 5000.00 dollars for several vet visits an MRI and spinal tap. We finally got answers. She has a small spine injury and nerve damage. Plus she has muscle weakness. This is permanent and can not be fixed. But it doesn't cause her great pain or anything. .she is on a nerve Medicine With nolong term eEffects. This was all caused by a injury she got as a kitten a year or more before. She fell on her back. First no rescue kitty ever had . The breeder we used lied about her age said she was 12 weeks she was only 8 maybe 6 weeks old. There is hope. Also have kitty checked for diabetes as well. We went threw a Neurologist to get our answers. Hopefully this will help you. Meow Boo

:yeah: my cats usually spend all day sleeping after a vet visit. It's like they want to recover from the stress of it and just curl up somewhere safe.
