Piece of information from Internal Medicine veterinarian about small cell lymphoma...

She says that typically cats with small cell lymphoma do not have diarrhea.  Just thought I would pass this on...I dont know if it means much..she agreed that this is "counterintuitive" but that the colon compensates.

I had seen something similar to this. I dont remember where I seen it though. What I had seen was that IBD that was primarily vomiting was more likely to turn into lymphoma

Denise, as I understand the issue(s), many vets feel there is often a continuium:  chronic hairballs, IBD, lymphoma.  In other words, many feel that this is the progression of this type of GI disease.  But often does not mean always.

Interesting. But there's definitely no always, as I've seen quite a few with IBD/diarrhea subsequently have biopsied small cell lymphoma. :(

My kitty had his first flare when he was 18 months old. These were severe flares hospitalized on an I V flares. These continued for six years before he was put on steroid. He has done well on the steroid for 3 1/2 years now. He has never had diarrhea only vomiting
