I don't remember joining here but when I tried to sign up today, it said username was in use so I sent reset password and here I am  LOL

Hi everyone - My name is Mike and have had cats for most of my 47 years.

Caddy is a 3 year old part Maine Coon and part kitty cat - has the full, mellow disposition of a Maine Coon though. She lost her 15 year old Siamese pal  2 months ago and she became quite depressed.

I spoiled her by finally breaking down and buying a cat tree and some new toys. She loved it - took almost a week to discover level 4 but here he is enjoying level 3.

It took about 3 weeks to find another kitten to try and cheer her up and oh boy, was it worth the wait

These pics start 2 minutes after I brought Aero in the door for the first time - He's 10 weeks old or so

The meeting:

This new toy is moving!!

Still in the carrier, he gets his first toy. Those claws left hundreds of holes in my legs the first few weeks  :)

"come on out Aero and see your new digs - we won't hurt you"

hmm? - toy still moving by itself...

We'll talk more after dinner...

What the heck is this thing doing up here in my perch?

I guess you can stay but I gotta tell you a secret first

You'll leave when I say you'll leave

I think this fit may prove more difficult as someone grows  :)

I'm king of the world!!!

This one's mine, get your own kitten

Well that's for it for now. I've never in my life seen 2 cats bond so fast and so tight. They're gonna have a long life together here and it makes me so happy to watch the 2 of them be happy

Oh, they are so cute!!  Sorry for the loss of your older cat.  Sometimes they remaining animals really do mourn along with you.  So glad loves her new buddy!  Watching them bond must be a delight!

Thanks everyone

These 2 were meant to be together. Aero was actually advertised as a female and like a dummy, I didn't check. Bought him on Craigslist on a Saturday and took him to the vet for checkup and first shots on the following Monday. The vet broke the news that she was a he - oops. I had wanted a female since all my prior cats going back about 35 years had been female and they always paired well together. Guess it was a good mistake.

They're so much fun to watch and they're really inseparable. If one makes a sound, the other comes running. They take turns chasing each other, silently wrestling and then it's bath and nap time. He's even giving the older one head baths already. It's just amazing to watch.

Here are the late Bumper and Caddy getting interviewed after the Red Sox won game 5 of the world series last year

I really miss Bumper but I think she sent Aero to be with us
