Good afternoon! I'm a "new cat" on the block here on TheCatSite. I am not a newbie to cats (my parents have had two throughout my life), but I adopted on my own recently.

I adopted a one eye, female Torti cat who they called September. While kinda long, I sort of like it, but am thinking of shortening it for everyday use to "Ember" or "Timber." She is only 11 months old. The shelter told me she was trapped as a kitten (with her siblings) but she had a super nasty eye infection. They tried to treat it but when nothing was working, they decided to have her eye removed. It's since healed over and sometimes you can't really tell she's missing an eye. She turns 1 on July 22nd!

Isn't she cute? I haven't really gotten to know her yet because she is still Queen from Under the Bed. You can view my recent post regarding her behavior and give me tips here!

I hope to be a great fur-baby mama, and am happy to meet you all here!

Well let be the first one to say welcome to TCS.  What a darling little kitty you have there and bless your heart for adopting her despite her health issues.  When they work themselves into our hearts their "defects" fade away it don't matter anymore.

Hello.
Welcome to TCS.  I hope you enjoy things here and find lots of information and fun things to try with your new fur-family.  She looks really gorgeous and I hope she settles in to your home really soon.  It looks like you have had some great advice already on your other thread so fingers crossed you enjoy trying things out and see her coming out from under the bed really soon.

I look forward to hearing how you get on and seeing more photos of your teenager.  I like Ember but you will know best what name suits her.

Thank you very much! Usually what happens is you end up calling the cat everything but its actual name.
