Has anyone else ever had their cat lose hair around their tail area? My female all of a sudden has little chunks missing and I think she's doing it to herself!?! Some areas even bleed and puss up. I'm taking her to the vet, but wanted to know if this has happened to others and what it might mean? She still plays, eats, acts healthy. I'm concerned!

That has not happened to my cat, but my brother's cat started showing big patches where her hair was missing. They took her to the vet, and she is doing it to herself by licking, the vet said due to stress. I can't remember what the vet said to do, if anything. I'll call him later and see if I can get any more info.

That would make sense, since our male cat has been stalking her more than usual lately. We have to keep them seperated now when we aren't here, at first I thought he was hurting her, but then it kept happening, even after we seperated them.

Even cats can have OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) where they do things like this. The vet is definitely the best choice. You may also want to think about what may be stressing your cat out.
