Aloha, and long time no see to all the regulars.  My life's been extremely hectic...and now it's killing my baby kitty.

My baby's very recently diagnosed with large cell lymphoma and had a chemotherapy(Elspar).

It happened really sudden, was less than 2 weeks ago...she hadn't pooed for 4 days which is extremely odd(well, two to three days had happened before...), also didn't eat much compared to before(still eating but since she's been extremely finicky, I couldn't really tell if she disliked the food OR she couldn't eat).  Due to my crazy work schedule(no regular days off, or weekends off), I couldn't get to my regular vet, I had to bring her to an emergency one that opens 24 hours.

She had X-ray, ultrasound, blood test...then the vet found a mass in her intestines AND an enlarged abdominal lymph node.  She was "presumptively" diagnosed with lymphoma but the vet decided to send slides to a lab on a mainland for a further review.  Meanwhile, my primarily vet was contacted, and she contacted me on her suggestions etc.  At the emergency vet, I was told that she should get a chemotherapy...I wasn't really ready for this but after my primarily vet assured me, I'd have to give it a go.  Then on last Tuesday, the result came in and basically it confirmed that my baby has large cell lymphoma...

The vet sends all the paper & info to my primarily vet.  At that point, I wasn't too sure what I was expecting...

My primarily vet contacted me again, and I decided to speak with her.  Nothing was really accommodating or calming myself.  It was heartbreaking & devastating to hear that my dear baby kitty has only 3 to 6 months even with the chemo she just had.  AND, the only thing my primarily vet's been firmly telling me is (although she does not use the particular words) to put her down by quoting "the quality of life" which, I simply could not AND can not take it at all...

My baby's released, prescribed Prednisolone...been giving her 2times a day.  The dosage is almost ending.

I know it may sound crazy but I could tell that my baby does not want to leave yet.  I know she's ready "to fight".

By ending her...I'd never be able to forgive myself...she's my dear little girl and my only family I have with me...

I am thinking of switching my vet but I don't want to risk anything...there's another vet in the same hospital(she used to be my baby's primarily, DKY they switched...) and I liked her better than the current one who's cold-hearted and only suggests me for expensive treatments:(

Another thing...

The emergency vet literally did not do anything for the primarily reason I brought my baby for - CONSTIPATION.

Nor does my primarily vet.  What I got was a sickening baby and a massive vet bill for nothing...

Sorry I ranted...

I am so sorry to hear the diagnosis. It must have been heartbreaking to learn this. There have been success stories with chemotherapy and large cell lymphoma, so there is hope. In other cases, chemotherapy only helped for a short while. Have you talked with a oncology specialist who may be able to give you more information? When it comes to cancer, I would encourage you to look into a low carb diet since carbs are known to feed cancer.

You know your baby best, and if you are both willing to fight, then pursuing treatment may be the right way to go. Many vibes for you and your fur baby.

I brought her in today for starting a treatment.
She got Vincristine, then prescribed Prednisolone again for 2 x day dosage.
A week from now she has to get CBC done then a day later another chemo if the result was good.

So far she's fine... Not vomiting or anything yet....

Her battle just begun...
