Hello I am new to your forum. I have a 2 yr old that has the dental problem where he is allergic to his enamel on his teeth. Does anyone know or have a cat that has gotten over it being on raw?[emoji]128530[/emoji]

Sounds like either FORL http://www.veterinarydentalcenter.com/catcase_1.htm   ,  http://www.avds-online.org/info/felinelesions.html

or stomatitis  http://www.mypetsdentist.com/feline-stomatitis.pml

Stomatitis is the more serious of the two and is known to be autoimmune in nature.

FORL are lesions that are like cavities in our teeth but are thought to also be autoimmune in nature.  The lesions usually begin in the roots so are first visible at the gumline.

Extractions are the usual treatment.  With FORL the teeth usually are extracted as they develop lesions.  Stomatitis is usually treated either by extracting the teeth from the canines back or all of the teeth.

Cats that are pets actually do quite well even with full mouth extractions.  Of course it would be a real issue for a feral that wasn't being fed by someone, hunting would be a real issue especially with a lot of missing teeth.
