About 3 weeks ago my small cat (6.7 pounds, not fixed) had to go the vet for an emergency with little eye. We got the sauve and came home. As soon as I let her out of the pet carrier she started attacking her former best friend. She will even seek out the large cat if the large cat is not on her pillow. Up until the time I took her to the vet they even slept on the same pillow on the bed. Now the large cat(17.9 pounds, fixed)has to defend herself even if she wants to go the litterbox. PLEASE help they are driving me crazy.

It is a stress reaction more than likely triggered by the vet visit. You could purchase a room diffuser, Comfort Zone by Farnum Pet to help with the situation. Or you could bathe both cats so they smell basically the same (if your cats are receptive to bathing)

If you wear perfume, spray some in the air, stick your hands into the mist, rub briskly then stroke both cats to give them that smell.

I have bathed both cats with the same soap and since both like to take the bath when I am enjoying a bubble bath they got in the tub with me (seprately of course). I have put vanilla extract on thier nose (recommended by a vet). I pet both cats and hold both of them. I have tried putting them in seperate rooms for a couple of days.

Is it possible then than the one who is getting attacked might be sick? Sometimes when they are ill they smell differently and their feline friends pick up on it and attack them.
