Cammie was a naughty girl and tore out several of her spay stitches and I had to have her stapled and now I have to give her Amoxicillin 2x's daily. I am a little miffed because the vet should have put an E-collar on her RIGHT AWAY, and then she wouldn't be going through this extra discomfort of having a slight infection due to her licking her incision! She spends the days moping big time in my bathroom and really only perks up when I go in and speak to her. She then will bump around in the collar, looking for petting and reassurance. Poor thing. She is such a dear. I am so glad I brought her home.

She isn't depressed, she probably doesn't feel very good and that is causing her to be off a bit. When you go to feed her, make her a pedastal to eat off of so the collar doesn't get in her way, or take the collar off while she eats. Just sit with her, read to her quietly, keep her in a dark quiet room so she can just sleep and regenerate herself. They don't like the collars but they are necessary sometimes when a cat wants to lick and itchy incision.
