Hello!

I'm new here and have some questions about a kitten.

I am a pre-vet student and work at an animal shelter where I was asked to foster two 3-week old kittens.  They're 6 weeks now but the one suddenly stopped using her back legs.  I've had her at a couple of vets and everyone has been telling me she just has neurological damage, that it's not an injury, and let's "give her a chance, but you will probably have to euthanize her."  She can move her back legs and control her bowel movement.  She has a hearty appetite, but has been getting very bloated (for this she is on Dextlixer and I'm cutting back on her formula.  I was advised to give her Hill's a/d and some puree pumpkin).

I've been researching everything I can on her condition and keep coming across methyl-B12.  I see that it's used primarily for diabetic cats and was told by the last vet that kittens *cannot* be diabetic (which I still question the validity of that statement).  Is it worth a shot trying it out?  Before the partial paralysis happened, she did kind of walk on her hocks.  She was never very good at walking in general.  And how much should be given to a kitten her size?

Thanks for any advise that can be given!
