It's been 3 days so far, at first I thought he just ate something bad, like the dog's food. But shouldn't that have worn off by now if he did? He walks around slowly,  visibly looks tired, and doesn't want to completely sit down, I assume it hurts down there. I've given him 2 baths now to get rid of all the waste on his legs and tail, but not even 30 mins after he's filthy again. He's agitated when I get near him, and doesn't want to be picked up at all. There's no blood in his poop, and the consistency is thick, but still watery. We're considering talking him to the vet tomorrow, until then, any one have any suggestions or anything about this?

I'm sorry about your kitty!  He sounds like he sure doesn't feel good.  Is he eating?  Something you can do tonight that may help is giving him pedialyte.  Diarrhea can really deplete our electrolytes and cause additional problems.

Thank you, and I'm pretty sure he's been eating. Him and our other cat usually eat at the same time, but I suppose I'm going to have to watch him more now. I'll definitely see about that, I've been worried about him dehydrating or anything about the diarrhea.

A trip to the vet is definitely in order.  He needs to be checked for parasites and possibly have a food for sensitive tummies.

Hi

I've had so many issues with my kitten and diarrhea. He's had about 6 instances with it since I got him in November. He was a rescue kitten so quite common I think for them to have bugs when they're in the cattery. The vet treated him for Giardia and gave me a paste called Promax. It's three graduations. One daily by mouth or mixed in food. It seemed to work. I have the paste to hand you can buy online from vets pharmaceuticals.

However this will only relieve it temporarily. If he had underlying virus it won't help. He may need a course of antibiotics. Frankie's last visit resulted in this as well an boiled chicken and dry food only.

Conclusion for me is that my kitten is very sensitive to wet food. It seemed to trigger whenever I gave a particular brand of Felix. I've stopped that now. Nothing (touch wood) for last month. Are you feeding him a mixed diet? I've switched him to Royal Canin Dogestive Health which restored the bowels and digestive system.

Hope I've helped but vet trip first :) x
