I need help with a fraction

What is 1/2 (half) of 1 1/16 (one and one sixteenth)?

I know it's 1/2 + 1/8, but I don't know what that adds up to together!  LOL

EDIT:  Never mind, I just figured it out.   4/8 in 1/2 cup + 1/8 = 5/8

lt's 17/32 (5/8 would be 20/32) but probably close enough ... unless you're making cat food 

I'm working on a copycat recipe for something cake decorating related.  I got a brainstorm last night, and developed a recipe theory, now I'm doing the math calculations so that I can experiment in smaller batches.

I'm having to convert to Tablespoons and teaspoons, because my recipe needs to be exact for it to work.

1/8 is twice 1/16 not half . 1/32 is half. So, yeah, 17/32 if you need to be exact.

A cup = 16 Tablespoons, so 1/16th of a cup is 1 Tablespoon. 

A Tablespoon = 3 teaspoons, so just measure out:

1/2 cup + 1-1/2 teaspoons.
