If you've already tried to vote for this month's Picture of the Month Happiness! Contest you can probably relate to the difficult time I've had today choosing our Picture of the Week... Lots of excellent photos of cats were uploaded this week making this a tough choice, so much so that I felt compelled to highlight some of the runner-ups as well. ]

First, our Picture of the Week by @jdean1120  View media item 224300

Chosen for the interesting composition where the focus is on the eyes (the theme of the photo which appeared in the Show Me Your Eyes thread) of the cat at the front of the picture, echoing eyes once more in the cat further to the back.

This family was hard to resist especially since they came bundled up with an amazing rescue story: Kittens rescued from a pick up truck

Then again, kittens have a tendency to steal the show, don't they? Just like fluffy Paxetta in @cccdlx's album:

Kitten Alice was the star of a great semi-action shot by @Adjecyca

Another great toy hunter is this little rescued kitten by @FireNat

Other kittens weren't hunting toys, just posing majestically like gorgeous wobbly rescue kitten Hank by @catsinmyhatView media item 224290
Or simply staring into the camera like @MeowKittyMeow' s Morrissey (I confess, I have a spot soft for cross-eyed colorpoints!)

Or this unnamed kitten by @sierra476  (I hope you come back to tell us more about her!)

Or sweet baby here by @lori39307

Believe it or not, there were even more awesome kitten pictures (I purraised the ones I like the most, so those who submitted them know I loved them). It's not all kittens though, we've had some great adult cats shots too.

I loved this excellent close-up shot added by @NewCatwoman  to our Cat Close-Ups album

As well as this interesting image of Neko by @Whisperer

And this great photo of Zoey by @MandooPandoo

And some photos just had an irresistible-cuteness factor too high to ignore like this picture of @ochowie's Digby

Such wonderful pictures and they're just the tip of the iceberg! Please help me choose the very best photos by purraising the ones you love:
You can help highlight the best content by showing us what you feel are awesome pictures. The way to do that is give purraise to the actual image. If you follow the Recent Photos link, you'll notice that as you click a specific image, you'll see the green Thumbs-Up icon under it, in the right corner. Click it to Purraise the picture. You can also do that by clicking an image in a gallery or a forum thread. Make sure you purraise the image  and not the post or album.

There's a link where we can check and see the pictures that got the most Purraise. Right now, members don't tend to purraise images, but hopefully as that changes in the future we'll be using it more. The purraise rankings will be checked each week and they can definitely be your way of influencing our choice!

Where do we go to be in next weeks/months contest? So many great photos here!
For the weekly Cat Picture of the Week, you just need to upload your picture anywhere in the site. It can be in any forum thread, a Cat Page or an album (either a community album or a member album). I look for the best pictures in the Gallery Section which aggregates everything into one feed here -

For the monthly themed Picture of the Month contest, keep looking for the contest announcement here in the Fur Pictures forum.

I gotta say, in addition to being really helpful to new cat owners, the members here really walk the walk when it comes to rescuing cats and putting them in good homes. I just read the thread about the kittens found in a truck, and those folks managed to find good homes for all four kittens after they were healthy and ready to leave their mom. Cheers to you guys for being so awesome.

Absolutely! The Ferals and SOS forums are an amazing source of inspiration when it comes to cat rescue and feral care!
