Hope everyone is having a good weekend morning!

What websites are currently open in your browser?

I have 21 tabs open.
About half of those are gaming sites. Then I have three news sites open (BBC is my favorite), TCS, Netflix, two FB tabs (one for Criminal Case!), one page about accepting checks on Craigslist, a recipe page and two Amazon item pages that I'm watching.

Only 5 tabs open right now for me, an unusually low number. Got the Lounge in one tab, this in another, then 3 tabs for My Fitness Pal open; my diary, the forum, and the thread I'm currently reading. Usually I've got more like 2-3 windows and 20-30 tabs between them but it's early and I don't have time to browse much this morning. :p

Only three - that's very low. Facebook, Outlook, and TCS.

I seldom keep more than 5 open unless I'm waiting for or need to bookmark something. Right now, it's YouTube, Facebook, TCS new posts page, and this thread since I open them all in new tabs as I click 'em.

I have 2 tabs open at the moment:  TCS and a 5K race.  I don't usually have a lot of tabs open at once.

21 tabs at once!  Wow.  That's a lot.  I have five--TCS, FB, dictionary.com, globalvoicesonline.org (I'm working on a translation this morning), and word reference.com (a site to look up Spanish-English terminology).

I also have it set up so that it remembers my tabs when I launch Chrome next time. Sometimes I just get lazy and don't close some tabs. I have the RAM for that many tabs too.

I have 3 tabs open, this one and 2 other threads I am about to look at on here. I always open all the threads I want to read and then go and read/reply to them.

Four: Facebook, LinkedIn, DailyChallenge.com, and this one.

I link my emails through Windows 8 Outlook, so I don't have to worry about multiple tabs for my email. No tabs!

I remember when LinkedIn was all the rage! I never even sign on anymore... I only do when I've been to a networking event because then I know I've got new people to add/approve, but otherwise it's largely forgotten. Most people in my industry like having one, but acknowledge it doesn't do much for you unless you're good enough to spread through crowds by word-of-mouth of other, more skilled people. :p

I REFUSE to have FaceBook, etc., but I do have a LinkedIn account because a clinical instructor asked me to join.  It's very common in what I do (healthcare), but frankly, I just don't see how it works and I really don't keep up with it.  I mean really, am I supposed to tell my boss that I think _____ would be a great nurse for our floor because she added me on LinkedIn?  I guess I am just too traditional.  Not to mention I just don't do social media.

It's kind of pointless because LinkedIn prompts you to do all these things when you sign in. I think the most recent I saw was "endorse _____ for _____ skills!" and you literally check boxes for stuff they and other people say they do. Sometimes people just click, click, click and endorse you for everything. I don't know if it's out of laziness or if they think they're doing you a favour, but some of the things I've been endorsed for I don't even do!

On the upside, if you're in need of a job, some industries have head hunters who just patrol LinkedIn and contact good prospects. My cousin is a head hunter and he says he uses LinkedIn all the time to get a baseline for people he considers recruiting. Since I'm back in school with much younger people, when they ask what LinkedIn is, I just say "it's like Facebook for grownups".

I have a facebook account, but I'm never in it.  It's a huge waste of time.  I also have a LinkedIn account, and never look at that either. I even set up a Twitter, just to see what all the hype was about.  What a bore.  All that social media stuff is just much ado about nothing, in my opinion.
