Hi~!.. i am new here.. and i have some questions regarding the symptoms of cats when they are about to give birth..

I have a domesticated cat, her name is Skitty and we think that she is pregnant.. I've read all the things i should know in the internet.. from knowing your cat is pregnant and the symptoms when your cat is about to labor.. i observed that the signs to determine that your cat is pregnant was obvious in my cat.. since she always go to some place that is darkened, eats a lot, drinks a lot, her nipples are growing etc.. and same as the symptoms when your cat is about to labor.. but.. there is an article that says "the QUEEN will likely to lick her genital, her nipples will turn into pinkish color, listless and panting etc" but the article said that this only last for 12 to 24 hours and my nipples of my cat began to be pinkish, becomes sag, and discharges fluid.... and its been 2 days since the signs were seen..  and i am just worried that my skitty might have an illness..

so is it possible that my cat is about to give birth soon?.. please do reply its my first time to have a pet cat that is pregnant..

thank you..

the exact day and hour is really difficult to know.  even if you are somewhat experienced.  There are signs but none of them is fireproof...

when you feel the kittens move, it us usually about 2 weeks left.  If you are good at palpating, you can feel them move somewhat earlier.  But that is it...

Also they can have some precontractions, so some panting now and then is normal.  As long it isnt clearly problems.

The good news is, cats manage a too long pregnacy better than humans, so usually you can just wait and see, as long as mom seems just fine.

Dont hesitate to come with more questions and reports!

Good luck!

My sweet kitty just had 5 beautiful babies last night. It was her 66th day pregnant. I too had been watching for signs like crazy. I mean every time she moved or made a sound I would jump up to see lol... anyway the day before labor I noticed that we couldn't feel the usually active kittens anymore, they had moved down into the birth canal. Her stomach was lower towards the floor also. The morning of labor I found her in a costume tote in my son's room. I was hoping she hadn't picked that as her nesting spot because I had her a nice box set up in my room. Well throughout the day she was in and out of the costume box... about 7:45 last night I decided to take the costumes out and put a thick sheet in the tote just in case. 15 minutes later she came up to me and started meowing wanting me to follow her (cutest thing ever!) And I followed her to the tote. She started contractions immediately and started breathing heavier, meowed a little but no crying and no cries of pain...within 5 minutes the first baby was out and then she had the rest between then and10:30....

Sorry this is so long I am just so excited!
