my cat is 66 days pregnant today. I called the vet this morning because last night we couldn't Feel the kittens moving anymore. She said it should be fine just to bring her in if she doesn't have the babies and one or two more days.well about 30 minutes ago I think she started nesting. She was walking through the house and going behind furniture and stuff. She picked a spot in my son's room in his costume box. She has nestled herself into it. Should I take her out and move her to my room where I have a box setup and food water and litter nearby? Or should I just leave her where she is?

could this even be the start of labor? I haven't seen any mucous plug or water breaking. Haven't seen any contractions either. This is my first time and her first (and only) time. She also is still eating not a lot but still eating some and drinking lots of water

Maybe a false alarm... she just came out into the hallway and is just laying in the hallway now. I'm not sure if she is close to labor or not

Cats manage a little too long pregnancy better than humans, so it is seldom a problem.  Last days they drop, kittens is wandering down into postions, so you dont feel them as much as before - and they are in another place then before.  Try to palpate further down her tummy!

They seldom take their nest early, most often shortly before the delivery - or even after the deliver.  They dont want so soil their chosen nest too early. Or get is smelly.

She has a couple of ready made nests, yes?  So dont worry, she will use them.  But if you want to be sure,  close her in in the prepared  Mom and kitten room, make sure she is safe and undisturbed there.

Good luck!

Thank you so much I'm thinking of putting her in the room with the nesting box I made and closing the door. She is out of the costume box but still wandering around the house. So since the babies have moved down maybe it won't be too much longer.
