Hello! My name is Theresa, and we have a pregnant cat that wandered on our property a month or so ago. We live in the country, and in March our neighbors moved, and apparently left all of their barn cats there. The beginning/middle of April a gray female showed up here, and was showing signs of pregnancy (pinkish nipple and her belly looked slightly round). We fell in love with her, she has become a part of our family. I'm not sure how far along she is, but we have brought her inside and set up a nesting area in my daughters bedroom (my daughter and her are inseperable). She doesn't seem to be producing milk yet, but seems to sleep constantly, and is quite clingy ♡ We have been checking her temp and it was at 98.8 yesterday afternoon, but back up to 101.0 this morning. Maybe I just got a false temp yesterday?!? How long do I need to wait after she has the kittens before I can get her spayed? We want to as soon as possible since I've read that she can get pregnant again quickly after.

Thanks for your time!

Sincerely,
Theresa

Thanks for the reply! I'm not sure what is going on with her, if she had miscarried before, etc. She showed up in April with pink nipple and a slightly round belly..lol... Looking back, I think it was mid to late April, but can't say for sure. We were swamped that month, so don't remember exactly when she showed up. She sure turned into a sweetie tho ♡

Thanks for the info on spaying! We have no problem keeping her inside til she can be spayed, so we will wait til around 8 wks ♡ Just want to be sure she can get spayed before she goes out so she doesn't end up pre go again.

I'm getting excited, but also nervous. Keke should be having her kittens soon, she started producing milk Friday, and her temp was down to 99.1 yesterday afternoon. She seems to struggle to get comfy, moving around often. I work today, but then will be home every day after, so really hoping she doesn't have them before I get home ♡ My mom is there with her incase she does, just to be sure everything goes okay for her. I have done a ton of reading on this site, and feel confident in being able to help her if needed. You all are amazing with your advice/help/links ♡ We will be keeping her inside for 8 wks after kittens are born so she can get fixed before going back outside. Also considering keeping kittens til they are old enough to be spayed/neutered. We already have 4 families in contact with us, that would like a kitten, and they are 100% for the spay/neutering, so that is great :) Anyway, I will post pics once these little sweeties decide to arrive ♡♡♡ I feel like I'm in full mommy mode...lol

If only you weren't so far away from me, I'd be all over getting my paws on one of those babies!

Thanks!! I think I had a false reading on the thermometer, because it was back to 99°F (under the arm), Monday morning. She still hasn't had the kittens. She is getting huge, just lays around all day. She seems completely content and loves her belly rubbed! The kittens don't seem to move as much as they were, and they are no longer up by her ribs, so assuming they are dropping into the birth canal. I am soo thankful I found this site, all the info I've learned is helping soo much!!!

UPDATE on Keke... She is still pregnant and doing great! Her temp was down to 97.1 under her arm this evening (it's been around 99.4). Hoping we get to meet those precious babies soon!

Notice in the 1st pic, the darker gray kitten has a disformed back leg... Do you think he will be okay?

I will see if I can get a better pic later. It looks like the lower half of her leg grew upside down (the paw faces upward instead of down). No worries on a good home, he/she will be staying here with us :) That precious baby already stole my heart!!!

I read it all and it was soo helpful, thanks soo much!! We will start therapy today! I have another question, too... Keke gave birth to three kittens Friday morning. It feels like their is another kitten still in her belly. How likely is it that she will go into labor again? I'm not 100% sure it was a kitten, but it felt like the bump from a kittens head, and my daughter swears she felt it kick. Keke seems completely calm, happy, and loving her babies. She doesn't seem upset or in pain.... Any thoughts?
