Well today I found my cat Joey outside limp and very skinny. My neighbor who has cats says that my cat is very dehydrated... My cat won't eat or drink and I'm really scared.. My neighbor says to use a syringe to give my cat water but he just spits it out.. I can't go to the vet because it's late at night. (12 am) And given the fact that I can't drive yet (I'm going to get my permit soon hopefully) I'm just really scared and I don't know what to do at this point. I don't want him to suffer in silence... What should I do?? Thank you for any help you can give

What if you tried making a soup with some canned food. Really water it down, and try again?

Is he cold or hot to touch? Maybe he's suffering from a heat stroke. He may need a warm or cool place to help regulate his temperature. This might bring back his appetite.

Fingers crossed he's o.k until the morning! Bring him to the vet first thing, even if it's the emergency vet!

Good luck :) Sending good vibes your way!

You don't have a friend or family member that can take you? Your cat sounds very ill. Critically ill and may not make it until the morning. Can you take a taxi or ask a neighbor?

If you weren't able to go during the night, is there someone who can take you and Joey (or transit/cab) during the day today? It does sound like he needs medical care really as soon as you can get it.

Sadly to report, we had to put Joey down:( his condition was terrible... The vets couldn't find the problem he had:/ thanks for your help.

At least you were there and have closure.   And Joey is not suffering any more.    Many times cats get sick and disappear... its truly heartbreaking.   That happenned to 2 of my cats when I was a kid and its tough to get over cause you keep on thinking you see them but its just another cat that looks like them.
