Hi, I am new here but seeing issues with my cat and unsure if it is normal or not.

I took him to the vet on Monday because he was acting strangely (hiding out and crying a bunch). She diagnosed him with FLUTD and prescribed Clavamox and onisor he has one dose of the onisor left and quite a bit of the calvamox.

He seems to be drinking enough water/peeing normally and is now more active but still is sensitive to being touched.

My question is that he doesn't seem to have much interest in food most of the time (he will eat small amounts throughout the day). I am trying to get him to eat his soft food but he likes to nibble on his hard food as well.

I know that last night he went to the bathroom and left small round stool in there (I think they were soft but did not check for sure..).

Today he seems to be going to the litterbox and straining and making farting noises.. but not producing anything.

What is going on with my kitty, any ideas? Is any of this normal?

Thanks!

One other thing I forgot to mention in the above post, he also has been licking his hindquarters much more often then usual.

He is just short of being 1 year old and is fixed.

With a male cat, the main concern is a urinary blockage, which would be an emergency. It could also be constipation, but it's oftentimes difficult to tell which it is since squatting, straining, crying, and licking that "area" are all symptoms of both. When was the last time he peed? Is he still producing pee? Are the pee pods normal size when you scoop them out? In my opinion, straining in the litterbox and not producing anything warrants a call to the vet, especially if you're not sure the reason.

Not being interested in food "most of the time" is also a concern. If he is not consuming at least half his normal daily caloric intake over a period of a few days, then he is at risk for developing hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver disease). The anorexia could be caused by the medical issue itself. Clavamox can also cause an upset stomach in some cats.

I would definitely call your vet and inform them of what is happening. Sending lots of vibes for your boy...

I know for sure he went pee last night and it seemed normal. I cleaned out the litter of this morning and tonight there were a couple of clumps (again seemed close to regular clumps). I have an older female cat so I don't know whose it was for sure.
He does seem more willing to eat soft car food in the evenings.
The vet said when I took him in the his WBC was high as well.
I am just worried about him.

Call the vet and ask if you  can try the Hills/C/d Diet.  Ask if the urinalysis had any crystals in it? If it did, you need the C/d diet to dissolve the crystals.

Make sure he is urinating. If 12 hours go by without urination, take him to the vet! Even if it is after hours and he needs to see the ER vet.

The "farting" noises (lol) may be the sound of gas escaping his anus. It makes me wonder if the antibiotic might be upsetting his GI tract. I'd call the vet about that, too!

Hunter seems to be urinating normally now. He is still straining a bit to poop but the ver says the antibiotics are likely causing that.
The vet did give me some wet food (royal canin). He seems like he is getting back to himself with playing some and wanting outside but I can tell the poor guy still doesn't feel great.
The vet said just to keep an eye on him and watch for signs.
