Hi,do you think anise oil is safe for my cat?The vet told me to put Pimpinella anisum oil in paraffin oil and put into her ear and this kill mites.Any other suggestion?Thank you Éva
I have heard of people using mineral or vegetable oil for ear mites, but it can be difficult to treat it without the correct diagnosis and medication from your vet. Ear mites can often be mistaken for a yeast infection, so sometimes the holistic approach will not cure it, no matter how often you clean your kitty's ears. Ear mites are also highly contagious to other cats. The vet will need to take a sample from your kitty's ears and look under the microscope to determine if it is actually ear mites. Treatments include medicated drops directly into the ear or on the back of the neck, similar to flea treatments. If you wait too long in treating it accurately, it may lead to infection or swelling of the ear canal.
I hope your kitty is seen and gets back to normal soon! Best wishes.
