My family and I have been taking care of two stray females outside since October. They both got pregnant, and had their kittens a day apart, on 4/19 & 4/20. There are 9 in total. The kittens were kept outside, since our landlord wouldn't allow us to have pets, but they eventually moved inside because they were too big to stay in a box. We had plans on taking them to a no-kill shelter this Saturday, for an Adopt-A-Thon. This would give them the shots they needed and get them homes without costing us a dime, since my family cannot afford that. Well of course, I fell in love with a small little kitten we named "Pippy." She was the runt of both litters, and we actually thought there was something wrong with her because of house small she was. I want to keep her, and thinking of giving her away honestly brings tears to my eyes. About a week ago one of the kittens got a swollen eye, and from what I've researched, a "third eyelid" type deal. We thought it was an injury, but once again, we could not afford a vet so we would spray saline solution into her eye and put neo-sporin on the outside to prevent any infections until we could take her to the shelter. A few days ago, a few more kittens had watery eyes, so we knew it wasn't an injury, it was a sickness. Now, since they are mostly all sick, we are taking them to the shelter tomorrow morning. But, I want to keep Pippy. I have found a temporary home for her until I move out of my parents house, (I'm 17, turning 18 soon,) but they cannot afford a vet bill. Neither can I. My question here is, is there any way for me to keep Pippy at all? Could I take her to a vet and explain my situation, and set up a payment plan? I will have the money in two weeks, however much it will cost, but I cannot wait two weeks for her to get treatment. I know the other kittens will be fine since they are going to the vet tomorrow to be treated. I'm just torn up about this, I don't know what to do, and I've just been crying for hours to the point my head hurts. I love Pippy so much, but I cannot give her up. I know nothing about vets since my family has never owned a pet, so please fill me in on how much it would cost, if there is a payment plan available, and what you would do in this situation.

Also, please don't go on about me not having money at the moment. I will be able to take care of her, just not at THIS exact moment, and since it is an emergency situation and she is sick, it can't wait. I understand I will need to put money out for food expenses, litter, toys, check-ups, etc. But in this instance I just do not have the money for another two weeks.

Not many vets will do payments unless your established but I assume you have already tried to call at this point?  If there is no money for the Moms to be spayed please surrender them too as the shelters are full but can not deal with the additional kittens every few months.

NO more neosporin near the eye.

Mot vets don't like or do payment plans.  Is there anyone who can front the $$ on a credit card until you have money in 2 weeks?  Regardless, if the no kill shelter is going to accept and treat the other kittens, then I would ask them if they could help you treat the one you want to keep.

Please don't try and medicate your cat's eyes with human meds, if there is mucus you can gently wipe it with a warm wet cotton ball.

Hello, and thank you for the advice. I found a way to get her to the vet, and we found out that she has Feline viral rhinotracheitis  A.K.A feline Herpes. She is still very sick, but we picked up some anti-viral meds, and eye drops for her that were prescribed by the Vet. I'm really hoping this all works out and Pippy pulls through! When this sickness is over she is going back to be dewormed,  and get some her her shots, alone with some tests for Leukemia and Aids. Thank you for the advice once again, I was hysterical when I wrote that post >.<
