Hi, I am really
sick of all the many excuses for my cat scratching her head and eyes, around, off. I wanta find something like putting macericrom (mecerichrome? the medicine) and just put it on the scratched area, and make her dislike getting it on her claws, that she stops scratching it!"Behavior modification."

I notice that ALL THE CATS
around this dumb valley, they all scratch their heads bare until they have no hair!! I think it is this over-allergic, pestish ,diseassd and pollen-mucked valley. The Willamette Valley is so allergic it makes all the humans sick to death!  That's why the cats are all sick too.We all get sick all the time.We have all had to find our own treatments for sinus, all repartory stuff.I may have to get allergy shots myself.I'll try doing the routine I for my cat, I have to do for myself; treat the symptoms.

I guess something like the above, making the scratching-area unlikeable to be scratched , just "aversion behavior" cause it hates the stuff, it stops scratching the area that has it. ok, here goes. (Oh, and I'm clipping the nails, somehow, to nothing.) :)

It's VERY obvious that you are extremely irritated and tired of seeing your cat scratch.

But you know what?? It's NOT her fault!

Can you imagine having 200 misquito bites all over and expected not to scratch??! NOT LIKELY!

So now that you have done some ranting, calm yourself, and do something that will help her not itch like she is.

Have you taken her to a vet?

First, she needs to get to the vet for a flea treatment and overall assessment of her health.  She could be allergic to flea bites or she might have some other kind of allergy like a food allergy or airborne allergies.  I understand it's frustrating for you, but you need to be proactive with her health and the first step is to get her to the vet.

DOREET,

Please do not put Mercurichrome on her head.  Mercury is toxic.

I didn't know that Mercurochrome is still available anywhere, anymore precisely because of the Mercury......?!

My grandfather died because of Mercury poisoning....

Maybe you already did that, but here is what I would do:

1. Anti-flea treatment (Advantage Multi, covers mites and ticks as well, not Hartz over counter medications, shampoo or collars).

2. Take a look inside her mouth, if you can manage it, for raised red spots or ulcerations.

3. See how the skin on scratched area looks like, it could be mites, Demodectic mange (or post photo here and ask those who was there, done that).

4. There is HomeoPet Skin & Itch drops, they helped another member here http://www.thecatsite.com/t/227801/very-itchy-cat

Sorry to hear that you and your pet have to go through all of this...
