Hi everyone:

Has anyone on here tried any holistic ways to treat their cats and if so what was the outcome? Also if you switched their food and has it helped? My cat has cancer and i am looking for any advice.

Thanks

Heather

In terms of food, I would recommend a low carb diet since carbs are known to feed cancer. I don't know of any holistic treatments for cancer however. Which type of cancer does your cat have and how is he/she being treated now?

Hi vball91, she has mammary cancer. The vet said even with surgeries and removal of her mammary glands the tumors will return within a year because the cancer is malignant so I am opting out of that option, as I know she would be miserable and i dont want to put her through 2 surgeries, she is 12. She is on no meds at this time as she is still doing okay, still eating and walking around.

I am so sorry. :hugs: :hugs: Mammary cancer is cats is a tough one. :(

First thing I'd do is search to see if there is a DVM trained in alternative medicine you can get to. http://www.ahvma.org They have a search function. I checked for vets trained in Chinese herbs in NY, and the list isn't that long - but many I know aren't NYC, I just have no idea if they're near enough to you.

You may want to take a look at experiences of the pet owners with cancer cats at Pet Wellbeing's Life Gold, or at amazon for the same name. Helped some. They have also liver suppot and detoxification herbal preparations, veterinarian made.

I used Life Gold on my cat, drops, orally, when he half-balded in unusual way, but no experience with cancer, thanks God. This is immune system support.

Best of luck to you and your cat!
