My son discovered a litter of kittens in his old truck. After several attempts we caught the surviving four kittens. My son doesn't know much about cats and I love kittens so I brought the babies to my house.

We are cat people with six indoor cats and a colony of outdoor cats that ranges from ten to fifteen.

We caught them in stages. First one and the next time we got two. The last kitten joined us last Monday. They were old enough to leave mom. They eat canned food and some kibble. They really like shredded chicken too. Mom is not feral but does not seem to have anyone taking care of her. My son has been feeding here. We are taking her to be spayed on Tuesday.

I think that they are seven or eight weeks old. They are all doing so well. They eat like pigs and have lost their fear. They have met a couple of our inside cats and aside from a couple of half hearted hisses they did fine.

They play with toys a lot and with each other. Just the last day or two they have started to purr when I pick them up.

They were covered with fleas and got a bath with Dawn .We didn't want to stress them any more right away so we bathed them all the day we brought the last one home. I chsnge the bedding very day to keep flea eggs from hatching. They will get another bath before they go to their new homes. Luckily, they are all spoken for.

We love the kittens and I just wanted to share a story with a happy ending.

Nice!  Tx for telling this!

I do hope the outside cats you do care for, are also spayed, as this mom here is going to be?

Spaying / neutering is the key for a long term care of outside / homeless / ferale cats...

Good luck!

Yes We neuter the colony cats. The momma to these babies is not part off colony

I'm adding her photo and a cute shot of the babies. I made them a two story condo with a sun roof. It's made of stacking vegetable bins with a baby blanket for a roof.
Oops can't get both photos. The kittens are all on the sun roof of their condo here.

Mom was spayed today. The clinic paperwork said that she was in season. She had probably been bred again already.

We have two bathrooms in our home but just now we have babies in one and momma recovering in the other one. Momma cat is very friendly and I get the impression that she wouldn't mind being our 7th house cat. We just can't do it. My son , the non cat person, has claimed her.

It's difficult to use the facilities in the kitten's bath. They are at the stage where they scale my legs whenever I'm in their room. They don't mean any harm but " ouch!"

Momma tries to escape into the rest of the house if we try to use her bath. It's all good though. I wouldn't trade having these great cats in my care for this little bit of time for anything. I'll say it again, I always get more from these cats than I can ever give them.

Just hearing the babies purr for the first time and knowing that their mom will not be starving and vermin ridden and pg all of the time makes it worthwhile for me.

I wonder if the two whitish kittens, if they arent really points.   In some points, for example, cream point, you dont see clearly the masque, unless you know how it looks.   If they remain blue eyed past the young kitten age, then its 99% sure they are points added to the looks.

Oops I meant to send the pic with my response. The kitten on the photo was plucked out of the yard by my husband today. He is going to a great home to be raised

One of the light girls will join him there. The two light girls do have blue eyes. They have peachy colored ears and orange tabby striped tails. I expect them to become a bit like a flame point

The mom of the cream and orange tabby babies is. Patchwork quilt of points, spots and tabby markings.

Two of the kittens went to a wonderful home today. The fluffy little pointed boy and one of the cream girls are now with a wonderful momma who will love them forever.

I met my friend, Mary , for lunch today. I brought the babies with me The kittens were in a Carrier and no one even noticed that we took them in to lunch with us. . We covered them with a baby blanket and they never made a peep.

Mary lost her beloved husband just a few months ago and I know that these babies are going to be a good thing for her.

I followed Mary home and we bathed the babies. When the second kitten was out of the bath and wrapped in a towel I put him in her arms. I wrapped the first bathed kitten in a towel and brought her to her as well. Mary was holding the kittens and rocking them and they both began to purr. I think Mary may have purred a bit herself

Keep in mind that the little fluffy kitten was found in the yard YESTERDAY. The cream girl had been in my home for about a week.

Just a little while ago I sent her a text to see how things were going. She lives very near Sea World and I kiddingly asked if she had taken her new babies there yet.

This is her response:

"Sorry I have been on the floor and it takes me a while to get up. No Sea World yet. We are busy eTing and sleeping and playing. I am exhausted! But. So in love!"

I feel so blessed that she and thoss precious kittens are together now.

Cheers to you for finding good homes for all of them, those are good-lookin' little kitties! I'm glad they acclimated quickly to humans and other cats.

The last two kittens from the truck go to their new home this weekend. They are really bonded and I know they will be fine together.

Meanwhile another young kitten had made its way into the house. The photo is of Dolly. She was very dehydrated andi listless when we found her. I've been giving her kmr with a syringe tube. She curls her tongue up like she is nursing. She had already started to play with toys. She very much would like to play with the two larger kittens. They won't do it. They hiss and swatt at her

I haven't got a home for Dolly yet. She's so cute it shouldn't be too hard

I wouldn't be too upset if she never left.
