Hello all! So I'm hoping for some info and maybe some calmed nerves. My cat Big Sexy (go ahead and giggle, I do!) is currently pregnant with her first litter. I have not one clue when she concieved but I do know it was sometime in April. Using guestimates I've gotten a sketchy due date of the 19th of June. Now, she has had some mucous looking stuff leaking out of her "area" which we thought was infection. The vet gave us antibiotics and so far so good. Now, I noticed today that her belly seems smaller and lower to the floor. Plus, my neurotic self took her temp tonight and she was at 99ºF. From what I've read that means in 24hrs we'll have our babies. But she just isn't acting like she's ready. Can anyone help me? Please. Thank you!!!

The signs you describe - dropped belly, dropped temp, hints she is near now.

What this acting / non acting you do mean?   No nesting?   Many cats dont nest until after birth.    They dont want to risk to soil and get their nest smelly beforethe delivery.   So they either go to the prepared nest first in the last moment, or even, deliver somewhere else - perhaps in your bed, and after it carry the kittens to the clean nest....

Good you did some reading on!

I shall send some links later on, when I sit at another computer.

Good luck!

Thank you so much for your help!! Yes I mean she's not nesting at all and she is still eating like normal. The only possible signs are the temp and her seemingly smaller belly.
