I was sitting on the couch this evening watching the news, hubby had just come home from helping some friends and I felt this two taps on my shoulder, and I turned around thinking it was Jake, and I came face to face with Kahu - he was the one who tapped me on the shoulder! It was definitely not hubby as he was sitting at the computer chair!

Do your cats ever do things like that?

Oh yes!

Sometimes, as I am drifting off to sleep, I'm awakened by Midnight (and sometimes Khepera) gently tapping my cheek.

Tillie comes up and oh so gently taps us when she feels like being sociable. That's getting to be more and more often lately!

Phoenix holds conversations with us, LOL. She'll go off on this long meowing speech, all we have to do is interject with "Really?", "That's interesting", etc, she keeps the rest of the conversation going.

I swear....once i had a persian with earmites, while cleaning out his ears, BOTH me and my mum heard him scream 'nooooo nooooo' we both freaked out and gently stopped what we were doing and put him down!

Ok it sounds mad, but it definately happened!!!

Pandora likes to sit like a human when she's on the couch lol

My Mom's cat Trouble will tap her on the arm when he's out of
food. She has a farm and feeds all the animals at the
same time everyday but when the cats run out before
that time he gets impatient and tracks her down to
let her know.

LOL our Siamese, when I was growing up used to call my mom by name: "Hel-en! Hel-en!" We freaked out the first time we heard it.

Max distinctively says "WOW!" sometimes, too funny. Khepera makes a noise like a "woof!" when he's upset. We call him the puppy-cat when he does that LOL.

When Lil's kittens were small, she got up and dislodged them from nursing one time and stalked out of the room, meowing under her breath, "Mrow! Mrow! Mrow!" like she was complaining up a storm!

Tailer talks to me all the time. She'll tell me about her day or what she's done and I do the same as above and just do the normal interjections, you know, the same way you do for a baby that's not actually speaking yet. She meows thank you too when I give her something.

I don't think my cats have ever spoken English though, but it's obvious what Tailer is saying, even to people who don't know her.

My older cat that I had before Toes used to chirrup hellow every time she came in the house and when she'd go out the back door she'd kiss the dog.

Hehe, Salem does that. He also answers my questions, like this:

Me: Do you want some tuna?
Salem: Meow!

Neo and moemoe call each other. moemoe says NEooooo and neo says MOeeeeeee.

When we have the bedroom door close someone says Mooommmmm. I don't know who though! They only do it when we aren't there. I think maybe marble.

It's cute when cats use their paws like hands and I love these little stories of talking kitties.
It's so sweet the way they can change an ordinary meow into something different and surprise you. I remember when I heard my sister's first cat do that a few times. (R.I.P) He kind of grumbled under his breath. I wish I could hear everyone's cats. It must be remarkable to hear them when they sound like words.

Movin' on up!
Opie sits on Bill's lap, each afternoon and they tell each other about their days. Whenever Rowdy and Buddy are getting into something, Opie finds one of us and rats the other two out.

One of my past cats, Peanut, learned to pet us. He would lay next to me or my ex and stroke our arms with his paw. Peanut always watched Winston Cup races with Numbnuts, too - curled up, with his head on Numbnuts' shoulder and both of them sound asleep!

These stories are so funny!

In the morning Iggy will paw at us to wake up! She's pretty agressive about it too!

Our cats love to talk also!

Zoey says Mama, and I say what baby - this goes on back and forth!

Lucy loves to have daily conversations with me she will talk for hours. She loves it when you meow back at her!
