Hi All!

I am trying to find a home for the most adorable and loving little stray cat. We cannot keep her (financially we have our hands full with the three we rescued last year). We had her fixed at a local TNR clinic to keep her from producing more kittens that we would feel the need to care for... but since then she has really become friendly and wants nothing more than to come inside our house and be a friendly little pet. I have been trying to find her a home for a few weeks now by posting pics on FB and asking acquaintances to pass the word around... but it doesn't seem to be turning up any results. It is kind of urgent because we think she may have an eye infection and she should see a vet (but we just can't afford it).

How do I get someone to adopt her? Are there safe places to post online for her? I would never consider something like craigslist but I need to get the word out somehow. I thought about just bringing her down to the shelter and paying the $25 'drop off' fee, but I feel like the shelter is full enough already and it would be  waste to send her down there to take the place of a cat that could die if it doesn't get a place in the shelter.

Any advice is welcome!

I forgot to mention- I am in northeastern Pennsylvania

She is too sweet!!

You can post an ad in the paper saying cat for adoption with a small charge ($50 is usually standard) to help prevent weirdos and pychos from taking her.

Word of mouth is usually best, which you are doing. You can also call the shelter and see what they suggest. I am sure they understand you not wanting to bring her into a shelter- they may know a foster parent or someone to help you.
