So I brought home a male Bengal kitten three days ago from a "breeder", which I am having serious doubts on now, but nevertheless, he howls at everything, when he's not being held, when he eats, while he drinks water, even when it went to the bathroom.

I don't know what the problem could be. It seems that the only way to make him quiet if to hold him. I feel like that just makes things worse. I him taking to the vet tomor for his first check up.

poor guy and poor you!

i'm not so knowledgeable on bengal cats...you might want to try and post this in "Cat Breeds and Showing" forum as well to see if someone with more experience on bengal cats can help you...but here are a couple things to consider..

1) is he fixed? i know you got him from the breeder, but has he been fixed? he could be yowling to try and get out...

2) you've only had him for 3 days. That's not very many days...honestly, he's scared and nervous...and he actually looks at you as his safety blanket, reason why he's always yowling when he's away from you, and feels good and he is quiet when he is held. I would suggest giving it a few more days, maybe even a couple weeks, and show him as much love as possible until he starts to feel confident in his new surroundings.

taking him to the vet is ultimately the best thing to do, as the vet can rule out any medical issues. you might want to ask your vet about calming treats as well. I use them on my cats and they help a lot.

How old is the kitten? I agree, a vet visit is the best place to start.

It's quite possible that the kitten is missing mom/siblings. Some cats/kittens are very codependent so this could be part of the problem.

Do you have any other animals in the home?
Is the kitten left alone during the day?

I've only just caught up with this thread @rhanco2 and am sorry I didn't see it earlier.  I once brought home a rescue girl who did the same.  The yowling was incredible!  And it took a week for her to settle down.  It was just her way of saying 'where the heck am I?'

So glad this worked out for you..

Do you feel like introducing yourself and your new boy in  New Cats on the Block.. ?

My Howie did the same thing when we brought him home! It was constant! Even while eating and drinking like you said. As he got used to being here he quieted down, but he is still a very talkative boy! Sometimes my mom stays at our house if we are gone, and she says he reverts to constant meowing as soon as we leave......
