Okay, so i have 4 cats. 3 adults and one kitten. They all hate baths and they are infested with fleas. They are indoor cats and i keep my house clean but they still get fleas. It is really starting to drive me crazy. i hate seeing them itch all the time because i know it must be bothering them. how can i get rid of the fleas without giving them baths? i have tried all the flea stuff from the vet but nothing worked and it costed a lot of money. are there any natural things i can put on them that will help with the fleas?

I haven't tried it but some people swear by food grade diatomaceous earth.

In addition to Amazon I think you can get it at places like Home Depot, it's used somehow with home swimming pools.

You can dip a comb in some Dawn water and run the comb over them.  The Dawn will kill the fleas.

You could also buy a flea collar and put it in the vacuum cleaner bag.  When you vacuum, the fleas will die in the bag instead crawling right back out and into your carpet/upholstery again.  But don't put them on the cats!  Regardless what the box says, they're toxic to cats and can kill.  It's fine to use in the vacuum though.

If you go the Diatomaceous Earth route, do NOT buy the pool grade variety.  The pool grade variety is toxic to pets and humans.  Be sure it's food grade, so don't get ANYTHING from the pool section.  You can usually find food grade DE at feed stores, organic garden centers, and online through such places as Amazon.

If you're having a severe infestation, talk to your vet and get a spot flea treatment such as Revolution or Frontline to apply to all your kitties.  That's probably the best thing to do.  You can use DE or Borax on carpets to kill fleas and then vacuum up with the flea collar in the vacuum bag.

i found some Diatomaceous Earth ( food grade ) at our feed store yesterday and when i dusted the cats with it, it really helped a lot they don't have them as bad now, so if i keep dusting them every week i'm hoping it will keep them flea free.

Be sure you dust the house, too.  Sweep it into carpets and under furniture and appliances.  Leave down overnight if you can keep the kitties out.  Also, it needs to be applied in a very fine, almost impossible to see, film.  Be sure to wear a mask and don't breathe the powder if you have respiratory issues as it will aggravate conditions such as asthma.
