A wonderful cat, O'Shea Family, was lounging in a chair at their party . I walked by and he had each paw covering an eye.  The light was too bright for him and it was very bright indeed.  He was  very old and the next year he had died before their annual party.  He will  stay in my memory forever.  He was adorable and never saw that before. Have you seen a cat do this?

My Darcy is a pro at covering his eyes or getting someone or something (preferably a human's stomach) to do it for him.
 Cats are resourceful creatures.

Darcy and Bingley kittens and their Mom... Thank you for taking the time to share with us.  I had never seen this before and it amazed me. So thank you for letting us know other cats do this too. Sometimes I wonder if cats are smarter than dogs. What do you think? They seem to know things more than dogs. I love both equally no matter what. Sandy B

I haven't seen a cat do that before, but it's interesting.  I am sorry for the family's loss.

IMHO, cats and dogs are smart in different ways.  I couldn't really say which species is more intelligent.  I am always amazed that whenever I am sick, my cats know.  Once,  I was extremely ill and just stretched out in the cold bathroom floor.  Daisy licked my face and when that failed, she grabbed my pants leg and started tugging. That little cat was actually trying to get me up out of the floor.

Thank you for sharing that wonderful memory with us, I know the memories can be bittersweet at times. My two DO cover their eyes at times, I try to get pictures when they do, it is so adorable. I'm so glad O'Shea Family got to be an oldster, I would wish it for them all to share our lives for as long as possible. I bless you for giving this baby a wonderful home and life full of love. Thanks again for the sharing.RIP beautiful O'Shea Family!

Found this wonderful article and maybe the cats we love now and have loved  Crossing the Bridge have something special according to this article.  Wanted to share with you as I am not surprised your cat responded this way after reading this below. Sandy B
