Was contemplating posting this to raw forum, but since what I received wasn't raw (so to speak), plopping it here unless/until a mod thinks the other forum suits it better!

Has anyone/other canucks heard of or used this brand? They carry dehydrated food and ground/frozen food. I found them when I was looking for commercial raw, but they send out samples and I just received mine today. Apparently they are only available in Canada - the company is based in British Columbia. Website says they are 90% meat, and it looks like they contain bones, muscle meat, and organs.

Rabbit, salmon, veggie

Chicken, veggie

Quail, veggie

Turkey, veggie

Beef, veggie

Ostrich, veggie

I'm probably going to give one of these a try tonight, rehydrated. Will be back with updates later tonight, hopefully. ;)

I'm in Ontario too - I just happened to find them on Google. Apparently they shipped to the US before too, but stopped in 2007. They're working to get their stuff back over the border again.

Anyway, I thought I'd let the cats try the turkey and veggie. Mo will eat pretty much anything. We cannot go wrong with food for him. The only time we did was with a very metallic smelling can of tuna (cat food, not human grade) that I was gifted. Kismet on the other hand is relatively finicky. She vastly prefers kibble and raw chicken or beef (tried lamb, was a bit of a bust), and will eat wet if we tempt her just the right way or hide raw in it. They've had cooked turkey before, but they didn't go crazy for it. Since this food is dried, I figured it'd be kind of like Pure Bites, which our cats both LOVE.

I opened the bag and the smell that came out was pretty weak. I think I smelled more plastic, but unless turkey is really seasoned, I find it doesn't have much of a smell anyway. Soaked some in cool water for about 15 minutes, and tried offering it to the cats dry as well. (Don't mind the children's crayon etchings on my fridge, LOL. I did those at a dinosaur exhibit a few months ago. So artsy, huh?)

Patient kitties waiting for food.

Note Kismet WAY in the background, having seen and smelled it and dashing away, haha!

So then this happened. When I offered the dry pieces, Mo sniffed it and turned his head. Kismet sniffed it and poked it off my hand, and when it fell on the floor (the way she likes to eat stuff, rather than out of hands), she hopped over it and left. I have it mixed in with their wet food now, which is the chicken dinner Friskies tonight. There's some moist stuff mixed in, and some dry stuff as toppers. Mo sniffed it a bit and walked away. He's a glutton and desperate for food when I first put meals down, but he does not seem into this. I held the plates to both of their faces and even with the Friskies, they're uninterested. Mo has grazed a bit, of course on Kismet's food, but neither are wolfing it down. :(

I'm going to try the other recipes. If none of them are a go for our cats a few days in a row (mornings are better for introducing new stuff because they're hungrier), I'll see if a friend wants to test them on her cat too. I may just have some samples sent to her and make my guys suck it up as wet food mix-ins.

EDIT; as the most subservient cat owner, I went out and took their wet food dishes to each cat where Mo lapped up a bunch, but he seemed to lick around the turkey as he found it. Kismet was taking bites of her food, and even picked up and bit the turkey pieces alone, and nearly cleaned her plate. I think a combination of letting it sit and absorb water longer, and have the wet food juices add flavour made the morsels a little more appealing. We'll see how tomorrow goes.
