When you were a child; what did you want to be when you grew up?

I always wanted to be a doctor.  But I also wanted to be a lunch lady.  They used to come around with plastic knives to cut this meat they served with gravy in the lunch room.  I have no idea what we were eating; but I liked it then.

In case your wondering; I became neither.

I wanted to be a ballet dancer but I was too short with stocky legs and my second toes are longer than my big toes.

l wanted to be a vet, of course! My parents allowed me to bring a long string of rescue creatures home - everything from stick insects, to hedgehogs, to lost exhausted homing pigeons.

As l got older l wanted to be a French teacher (my daughter is now a French teacher).

I wanted to be a lawyer. My father always said I'd make a good one; he said I could come up with a good excuse for anything.
As I got older, I wanted to work in Environmental Law. Didn't get there, although I did a concentration in Environmental Planning in college. But I'm a Land Use Planner.....not even close.

Mani, my second toes are longer than my big toes, too. My third toes are as long as my big toes. (I have sandals on and just looked.I must have really weird feet.)

A mermaid XD

I wanted to be a vet first, but then the idea of putting down animals (bad pet owners aside) crushed my dreams as I got older, and I was interested in marine biology. Then I stopped enjoying science in high school and went for an oh-so-generic "artist". No idea what kind of art I wanted to do. It wasn't until second year university I figured something out.

I do too.  I did well on the MCAT and was accepted to med school, but I chose not to go.  I was looking at medicine for the wrong reasons.

As a young child I wanted to be an artist.  But I have zero talent.  In my adolescent/teenage years, I wanted to ride horses professionally.  I had some talent, but not funding.

When I was little I wanted to be a vet, but was not keen on having to deal w/ reptiles at all, or the sad parts of being one, so let that go.

When I was in Jr high, I wanted to be a fashion designer, & even sketched a couple of dresses.  That was short lived too. lol

Later in Jr. high & high school I wanted to do hair, & even used to cut my sisters friends hair. I did become a hairdresser, but only did it for 5 yrs. before moving on to skincare & massage therapy.

Even though I no longer do it as a job, or even part time, I still like doing massage therapy, & trade my hairdresser for my hair appointments, as well as other massage therapist,

(w/ my cleaning business, I need them! It doesn't always happen, but I try to trade for one once a month.)

I always wanted to be a stay at home Mom who had part time jobs when kid was older. Did not want to do the college thing and just wanted to work teacher aide or vet tech jobs.  Not to far off from childhood thinking.

I've always dreamed of becoming a Cartoonist, working at Disney Studios.

Now I am a graphic designer.. close but not the same!
