Is it possible to 'milk' a cat? The kittens have stopped drinking the milk but mother is still producing milk and I know it can be a problem if she doesn't release the milk. Is there anyway to do this?

It "should" be possible, but I havent heard about this...

You mean, drying up may be a problem for mom?  Yes.  As far as I know, they usually just let it dry off, hoping for the best.  Perhaps having a little cold pressed olive oil on, or some human preparate for sore teats.

Breeders try  and let perhaps one kitten or two kittens nurse somewhat longer, so not all stops at once, but decreases stepvise.

Well 2 of her teats are very full with milk but the kittens don't really want to drink. It's my friends cat and she said that she read online that the nipples can become infected if the milk is not drank. She asked my advice but I also had not heard of this.

Just allow her to dry up naturally. I've never had any moms who's kittens were weaned have any issues or problems, same as with humans, if theyre not used, the brain says not to produce it, and it will dry up. No probs.

Remember, researching on the internet will give you even the most rare occurrences, if one out of 100 get some sort of problem or infection, then it will read as it might happen to yours.

Very small chance.

Can you milk a cat? According to Greg Focker, yes, you can milk a cat. (Sorry, couldn't resist! LOL)
