My cat Grayson has been scratching a lot lately. It's all in the head region. Mostly ears (esp right), sometimes chin/neck, once in awhile face. There is no visible skin lesions or redness. Just him scratching so much and obviously uncomfortable. We did see a vet on Tuesday that examined him- looked at his chin and in his ears with a scope. didn't find anything concerning (other than wax but that's normal) I'm continuing to monitor and keeping our vet posted (the one tues was a different vet at the same practice)   Our vet is having us eliminate one of the supplements he's on (that was started recently) so we'll see if things improve. I'm not sure.. it's bothersome to me that it's mostly concentrated in his ears. But the one vet looked inside so would think if something was wonky with the ears he would've saw.

Anyone experience something similar?

I assume the vet eliminated fleas as the cause, and that the cat is treated regularly for fleas and mites? Some mites don't show up easily without a skin biopsy. But I would think some kind of allergy is a more likely reason - have you changed his food lately or bought a potted plant? It can be really diificult to find a reason for random scratching.

My cats have both been scratching a lot lately, and I've noticed a lot of dogs scratching too. Around here it's finally gotten warmer and they're shedding fur more. This is what I think is going on with my boys anyway, not sure where you're from or what the weather is like there.
He could of course have developed an allergy, hard to say.

Itching can be caused due to any fleas and ticks issues. If these issues does not relate to your cats itching then you must consult a vet. A thorough medical examination will be very helpful in diagnosing the cause behind these problems.

We saw a vet once already. Only mentioned ear wax when he looked inside Grayson's ears. Still monitoring and in touch with our main vet and I'm guessing it has to be allergy but it's really bothering me. Want him healthy and happy. We are in the Midwest and summer has finally arrived.
