curly/wavy belly hair

Malachy is only the 3rd cat I've owned as an adult ...I've had him for about 6 weeks now.  Of course he is a simple domestic long hair mix - shelter kitty who came in as a stray supposedly.  His belly hair is wavy, even curly to a degree ...I really don't remember if a previous long hair I owned had this ...is this common in DLHs?

Just a curious thing is all ...

Yeah longhaired cats can get this. I'm not sure why some get it more than others :dk:
Mine tend to get curlier belly hair in summer when it's warmer - I just put it down to them getting too warm and hot down there when they are curled up sleeping :D

I had a tuxedo with curling belly hair. The hair was a different consistency to the rest. It was soft, like lambs wool. In the winter I would have to pull snowballs out of it when he came inside.
