Had the procedure today and the dr found a "growth" in my colon. She made an appointment for me to see the surgeon tomorrow afternoon. They will do a biopsy, but regardless -it must be removed surgically. I know colon problems are highly treatable now - whether it's cancerous or not. Reallly nervous about this and Paul is an absolue wreck.

Keep thinking of me and I'll let you know the progress. I just want to get this over and done asap.

Tons of good vibes coming your way!!!

I work in Oncology with colon cancer patients.  You are right, if caught early, colon cancer tends to have a good outcome.  Not all growths are cancerous. What you could have is a simply polyp, those are quite common.  I'm glad that your doctor is sending you to have it investigated.

My mom had polyp issues, that caused bleeding problems. She had it removed surgically. She was in and out of the hospital in 5 hours and felt fine the next day, though a little cramps. She said it was no big deal, it was just the stress of waiting for it to happen- she wanted it over with.

Good luck.  I really hope it's a common run of the mill polyp that is so common as we get older.
