Mother has been separated from kittens for about a week so that her milk will dry up.  She was not eating well before and now will not eat at all.  It's been about 6 days since she has had much at all.  She was at vets today to get hydrated but no one seems concerned.  What can I do and what is wrong.  Anyone had this experience??

To me, this is very worrying and she needs to start eating immediately even if you have to gently syringe feed her. She is not sick? No fever? I would pick up some Hill's A/D from the vet and try to syringe feed her a few times per day. Here is a video showing how to syringe feed a cat. http://www.thecatsite.com/t/227858/syringe-feeding-lucky-video-if-your-cat-is-not-eating Cats should not go without food for this long and I would think the vet would be concerned. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

I agree with Feralv.   Also, try to temp her with tempting foods, even if spome may not be 100% nourishing.  This as a way to get ger back into the habit of eating.

Standard tempers is Gerber baby food, both stage one and two had been mentioned.  Take the plain  chicken only or turkey only.

Let it be room tempered, so its more smelly and tempting.

Good luck!
