I have an almost one year old kitten, and he has been diagnosed with a heart murmur. I use to feed him and his brother both Orijen Cat Food, but now that I know he is sick, I am concerned about the sodium percentage in the food. They both also eat raw foods specifically prepared for cats.

Should I still feed him raw foods? And what kind of kibble or doctor approved foods could I feed him alongside that?

Thanks so much.

I know some kittens have heart murmurs and outgrow it. Has your cat seen a cardiologist to determine if it's benign or caused by a heart issue, HCM? Having a heart murmur doesn't tell much. Your cat can eat what every cat eats a meaty moist diet. Just because your cat has a murmur doesn't change anything as in diet. My cat has a heart murmur which was checked via echocardiogram and it was benign and I feed her high quality wet food.

If they are eating raw, then I would keep feeding them raw.

I personally am not a fan of vet prescribed foods since they all have unnecessary ingredients that cats don't need. Most vets don't really know much about nutrition anyways.
