We have to put Mittens and Watson in different rooms (or Watson goes outside) when we eat dinner. They go crazy when it's that time. But, if Mittens is around he will sniff our plates, and then lick them for a little bit. Doesn't bother me after I have eaten. I won't let them eat with me though. I just don't like that, personally. Zack let Mittens drink milk after he was done with his cereal. Now, what a treat that was!! The dishes get cleaned anyways! No problem here!!

JB sometimes drinks the water out of the glass, but the paw thing, dump it out and start over. He loves to dip his paw in it and now I see that my son likes to dip his hand in the water glass also LOL! And ditto the statement of cats being clean, they are cleaner than some humans and definitely cleaner than dogs and I am squeamish about eating out unless I take it home and use my own utensils and plates. But as of late, I don't think I'll be eating out for awhile with all the negative evaluations on restaurants

Casey is beautiful. I bet you miss him loads.

My cats drink my water out of the glass, only I don't tend to leave the glasses lying around half full as I panic they may get their heads stuck.

Ferdy (my ex-stray dustbin cat) will finish off pretty well any meal - and the other 2 wil have scraps of fish or chicken off our plates. I try to make them wait until I finish eating before they launch an all-out assault, but that doesn't always work.

Ferdy loves wine. I accidentally spilt some on him and he licked it all off. Since then he's been stalking my glass
I have to watch him to make sure he doesn't down it all for me!!!!

I let Salem eat off the dishes, and I kiss him on the nose. People tell me that it' nasty to let animals eat off human dishes.

They think that it's even nastier that I let my pet rats share my drinks with me. I tilt the glass over a little, and the rats stick their heads in and lap up the juice/milk/water/whatever. People think I could get a disease, but it's extremely rare for a domesticated rat to give a person a disease.

I share my food with the kitties, let them drink out of my glass (but no paws, thanks!), kiss them, let them sleep under the covers...

We "assisted" at the birth of Lilith's kittens, who were born in the middle of our bed.
Messy, but magical!

We share our food with our cats, we do cool off the hot food first for them. We share kisses with them and they share with us. They sleep with us, on top of covers and under covers. I do draw the line at waking up with a kitty bottom in my face. If they want to cuddle while sleeping they have to do it face to face.

LOL!!! I can relate!!! Every night, I have the same conversation with Coal. "No, I do NOT want to smell your butt. Put your butt down or go to the foot of the bed." Some nights, he listens, some nights, I have to evict him to the foot of the bed.

Casey was my "only child" and when she died we were devastated....Now I have 3 more "children"...lol

As for the wine, I had a furkid (Alexandra) in San Diego that also was a "wino"....You didn't dare set the glass down, for fear she would slurp it all up! And with her sister, Brandy, it was chocoalte you had to watch out for (which is VERY bad - poison- for cats!). But Brandy would do everything she could to snitch a bite of it if you had anything around...we really had to watch out for her!

all of mine like to know what i am eating but rarely want any of it!
the only thing that Tulip will INSIST on is yoghurt. It has to be Marks and Spencers vanilla yoghurt - boy she just sticks her paw in the carton if i dont let her lick the spoon! If i deny her she gets really angry and gets'fluffy big tail'and launches herself at me and the carton. Needless to say I dont deny her. As a vegetarian I rarely have meat in the house but I do buy those Quorn slices. they all love them - nearly as much as chicken - and i end up with cheese in my sandwiches.

I don't let my animals eat while I eat but I see nothing wrong with them cleaning the dishes. Unless you don't wash them.

I wash my dishes in very hot soapy water and since my husband got leukemia, I rinse with bleach water. I just continue to do it as I think it is a good health measure. Especially since I have a lot of plastic dishes.

I see nothing wrong with any of it if you don't. I will say, they recommend treating a cat bite very aggressively because of the germs they inflict so
On animal planet, I saw a woman who was bitten severly on the hands while trying to get her cat off of a fence it had been impaled on. She almost lost her fingers and had several surgeries on the joints and stuff to save them. If you had seen that, you would be very careful of cat bites. ??Cat mouths?? I guess it may makea difference in it being a deep (no air) wound versis licking. Just a little info. Not bashing anyone.

Everyone to their own thing I say.

Nancy, any bite can be and is dangerous. But, a human bite is the most dangerous of them all. If you do not get a bite taken care of, that is, if you were bitten by a human
the infection is one of the most severe. We have a bacteria in our mouths, I do not know the name of it, that is very toxic. So, watch out for those biting humans

I also watch that on tv , the woman was a organ player in a church I believe . Yes every bite can be dangerous to your body .

Well I do have a dishwasher

My theory is if I would share it with my child, why not my furry children?

Salem and my previous cat, Frisky, never stuck their butt in my face. Salem insists on flopping down in the middle of the bed, and then stretching out as much as he can so that he takes up the whole bed!

Frisky was weird. She would try to sleep on my face! I would wake up in the middle of night, gagging, because a cat was on my face!

I've taught Scarlett, Muddy and Koko to take goldfish crackers from my lips. I get a little kiss from them as they remove them.

A friend came over and was intrigued by this (she is a cat lover also). She put one in her lips, Scarlett came up to remove it, and my friend squealed and pulled away.

I feed some of my cats from dinner plates - that's what the sterilize cycle on a dishwasher is for!!
