Do any of you do things with your cats that other people find disgusting? For instance, I let my Baubles drink out of my ice water in the evenings (I have a big 32 ounce cup that I keep constantly filled), and she also shares my low fat popsicle that I have after dinner at night (much to my hubby's dismay! lol) She gets a lick and then I get 3.....she loves that cold feeling on her tongue, i think! lol Of course, all 3 of them sleep on the bed with us at some time at in the night (takes forever to remove cat hair from my sheets when I wash them!). I've had people say..."but don't you know where their mouths have been?" I think they are much cleaner than some humans i know..

Casey was gorgeous! A lot like Toes only paler.

I have a friend who lets her cat drink the milk out of her cereal bowl while she's eating her cereal.

I had a cat who would always drink my chamomile tea so I never knew if she'd touched it or not.

I don't like swapping spit, though, with humans or cats so I prefer to change cups if I know my cat was drinking out of it.

Movin' on up!
Rowdy will drink out of my water glass. If the level is too low, to drink, she dips her paw in and licks off the water. I don't mind her drinking out of my glass but, once she's dipped the paw, I dump the glass and get a fresh one. I DO know where that paw has been scratching.

hedi - THat's what dishwashers are for, right? I have a friend that absolutely refuses to use any of her regular dishes for her cats, regardless of whether they were washed or not....She says you do not mix animal dishes with human dishes..

Heck! Our cats have always cleaned our bowls, plates, whatever. The dog did too.

Toes pesters the heck out of me if I have canned asparagus for dinner and don't leave a little on the plate for him.

Once they're washed, who cares?

Is your friend Jewish maybe? I'm not sure since I didn't keep a Kosher kitchen, but I think there may be some Kosher laws on that.

If I open my mouth wide, Merlin will stick his head in like I am the lion and he is the lion tamer.

My cats eat off my dishes. And Hallie will stick her little head in my cup to drink the water. She also does the paw thing like katl8e described. I won't drink after she's done that.

It's funny, but my children don't dip their paws....Mocha, however, jumps into the bathtub (I turn the tap on for him every morning) and will hold his paws under the tap until they are good and wet and then he retreats to where mommmy is for a scratch and to clean himself with his wet paws....this is par for the course every morning...

I am a fur junkie and sniff the cats fur all the time.

The other day, Kahu was grooming himself and I love to sniff his belly but that time, he moved and I ended up sniffing his private parts. That was NOT a pretty smell!

Most people think that is disgusting letting your cat lick out a bowl or plate, but my wife and I don't. Heck, we kiss our kitties on the lips
Most people do not realize, that a human's mouth is much dirtier and full of more dangerous bacteria than a cats mouth. A cats saliva actually contains a natural antiseptic. It's funny, most people who do not like seeing a cat lick a plate, even though you tell them it will be washed, never think twice about eating at a restaurant, even after that fork, knife or spoon was in someone elses mouth

I don't let me cats eat off of food I'm eating (I wouldn't eat after another human, either), but I do let them lick the bowl or plate after I'm done, same with my dog.

It's nice to see all the responses! Amber - that was a good point you had about the restaurants cutlery.

And speaking of cutlery, I, too, let Baubles or Mocha go ahead and eat ice cream off my spoon and then continue on eating....I don't find it awful at all!

Another thing I have to watch out for on Baubles is.....White Russians! LMAO! She thinks she is entitled to anything I drink, and I just explain to her that the vodka is not good for her!
