Drooling?

does anyone else have an issue with a older cat drooling all the time? My 12 year old Squiggly drools constantly...happy or not...i dont have the money to take him to a vet this week but does it sound like something normal or something that could be really bad?

Has his mouth been looked at lately?  It sounds like an issue either with his teeth or inflammation in his mouth.

Drooling in cats in general is not normal. I would have it checked as soon as you have the funds to do so. It could be a number of things besides a mouth issue. Does he have any other issues besides the drooling? Is he eating and drinking normally? Peeing? Pooping?

Test for neurological problems immediately. My kitten experienced drooling of phases it only got worse.... You know the rest,

I would agree with Denice. A 12 year old cat very likely has teeth issues, gingivitis/gum inflammation and needs a cleaning.

Sad because it's not cheap to have done, but the cat will be in suffering pain and get very thin/emaciated due to not wanting to eat soon.

No less than when we have a toothache, and we all know how that feels!! Terrible!

Hi Georgiesmommy. Poor Squiggly and sorry he is having this problem. I definitely think he needs his teeth checked and more than likely needs a dental with possible extraction (s). It is also possible there is something else going on in his mouth causing him to drool. So a vet check and mouth check is the only answer we can offer. Many vibes for your Squiggly
