I don't know if i'm posting this in the right place and i'm sorry if I haven't but please help !!!!

PLEASE DO NOT SHOUT AT ME AND SAY I'M ABUSING MY CAT FOR NOT TAKING HIM TO THE VETS YET, I HAVE COME ON HERE TO HEAR YOUR OPINIONS ON WHAT IT MAY BE AND FOR MY NEXT STEP TO BE AND IF ANYONE HAS EXPERIENCED THIS.THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!

I have 3 cats all spoilt rotton, 2 females one male...

The male cat is usually always wanting to be outside, hunting, fighting with other cats, any food in it's sight he will have it gone quicker then you can blink. He was seeming abit sore for about 2 days like if you touched him around his back legs/back of his back he would meow... but still going about doing his buisness then yesterday afternoon he just wanted to lie down and sleep.

I kept checking on him and decided to carry him upto my room (very carefully) so I could be watching him non stop... he was sore but was purring when i stroked him ect.  He wouldn't really eat so I took him downstairs into his bed and he ever so slowly on his own accord  limped over to the food and started licking all the jelly off of the cat food... Then I heated him up some cat milk and he had all of that and loved that.

This morning I tried give him ham, which usually he goes mad for, no reaction, I tried tuna, he smelt it, purred, but didn't have it. He had some water and some more jelly off of the cat food... I'm going to buy some more cat milk and give it to him. I didn't go to college because I didn't want to leave him. I am still assuming he was just in a cat fight ......He is still purring when I stroke him and hug him and is lying next to me in bed at the moment...

My dad is away but is back on Wednesday...He is the one who deals with the vets ect.... As bad as this sound I am not sure which vet this cat is with because all of my cats are at different vets... I'm very worried and I do not know what to do....

If he is not eating that can kill very fast.  And it needs to eat very close to normal calorie intake.

Any vet will see him if they have a slot.  You just call for appointment you do not have to be a patient to have exam. If you can call Dad ask him or ask where the records are so you can check if he does not know.  Otehrwise I would call any vet at this point.  If this cat crashes in night ER is a lot of money just to get exam(by me it is 2 1/2 times the price at moment vs my regular vet. Just tell them he won't touch food at ALL as that is a visit reason in itself, let alone change of behavior.

I would worry more about disease, poisoning or a car grazed him then a cat fight if you are not seeing any sores/wounds or feeling any hot spots on his skin.

Hi

This is the thing, by the time a cat is showing signs of pain or being ill they are in bad shape. Cats will hide all their pain etc for as long as they can. It is in their DNA to not show any sign of weakness or pain. That is because if they did, living outside they would be killed, beaten up, or left behind. So they are very good at hiding their problems. When you are seeing signs of an injury or of pain  then they have gone to the point where they can no longer hide it from you. At that point it is an emergency.

I have seen a cat with a fractured pelvis walk almost normal. I have seen a cat with an extremely low blood volume pass for normal behavior. I think the worst was a cat that had lilly toxicity from chewing on the leaf of a lilly plant. She was so sick with complete renal shut down that she could no longer produce urine. She was drowning inside from the fluid and toxic buildup. She was not on pain meds. She was so very ill if you can imagine going 3 days with urine overflowing your kidneys and destroying your internal organs. She was in a cage and her Mom came by to visit and had her little mouse and the dear little kitten (2 years old) tried to play with the mouse and did the cutest little mew when she saw her mom. Of course she couldn't move anything but her little paws but she sure tried to play. It was one of the worst things I have ever seen and I wound up leaving that day because I couldn't bear to watch that little cat suffer in silence anymore and the jackass of a vet wouldn't refer for dialysis ...........anyway about your cat because this isn't about me.

I would imagine your cat is in bad shape. It could be allot of things. He could have internal injury without external evidence from hit by car, Dog bite, old cat fight , being kicked, eating poison mouse, being tortured, a cat disease from infected cat, blood parasite, internal parasite (I doubt it would make him this bad) internal organ shut down for unknown reason. He could also be blocked. By that I mean a urinary blockage which if it is that he will die very soon if not treated,

The list goes on and no speculating is going to help you figure it out. If he is this bad I doubt he can get better without vet care. You don't have the tools or facilities to find out what is wrong with him.

So please do whatever you have to do and get him in to a vet now. You are over 18 right? He is your cat? Start making calls right now and find a place to have him looked at before it is to late. The longer you wait the more involved this will be and the greater the chance he won't recover.

If vet offices are not answering their phones, I'm assuming you are living in a part of the world where most things are already closed for the day. Some vets leave an emergency "after hours" number to call on their answering machines. There also may be 24-hr emergency clinics in your area. Check the phone book again and do some googling.

Edit: local rescue groups and humane societies may also know of vets that are open.

So true about cats hiding pain.  I have had cats where only reason I knew something was wrong is the other cats treatment-either very overprotective or they would leave it alone/avoid it to point they would not enter that room.

This is not a situation where we can give advice except take your cat to the vet. Who knows what happened while he was outside. This is why I keep my cat indoors.

Just worth mentioning do not give any meds.  Many innocent meds for humans can kill a cat.  I know when cat is very sick and you feel so unhelpful it is tempting.

Seperate him from the others and note his litter box usage as that is a big thing to know for sure if he is going(males block urine easier then females)  And also a cat in that shape does not need to be dealing with otehr cats.  Keep him warm and have water very close by so he can drink.

Good luck.

Yep already have him seperated from other cats. Have him up in my room ... He hasn't urinated today atall and i'm sure he didn't yesterday unless he's done it somewhere without me seeing. His poo was very very dry and in little balls he did that last night

Is there ANY way your mom and you can get him to a vet tonight instead of tomorrow? It would probably have to be an emergency vet, but this is a true emergency.  If he has not urinated in over 24 hours, that is a very, EXTREMELY bad thing. He really has to see a vet ASAP, not almost another 24 hours from now. If he truly hasn't peed in over 24 hours, he truthfully might not make it to after work tomorrow. I hear you that you are only 16 but is there any  way to convince your m om that this is an emergency situation?

Not peeing that long is REALLY bad. Does he look bigger then normal around middle or like he is pregnant?  I had a cat nearly rupture the bladder from being blocked.  Cat was euthanized due to no options left money wise mainly being the factor but vet said with it bad as it was it may rupture on way to the ER vet who did the surgery.

I'm sorry to be blunt, but no.  Purring is not always a good sign at all.  Cats often purr when they are in pain.  If it is unusual for  him to purr this much, I'd actually take it as a very bad sign.  I also don't think it's a good sign that a cat who always wants to be outside suddenly wants to be by you and cuddle in a blanket.  It all sounds really bad to me.  Again, I am sorry to be so blunt, but he really needs a vet.

He usually does purr and does like to be inside at night but normally is an outdoors cat hunting... I hope you understand that i'm not old enough to take the cat to the vet myself or i would have taken him earlier today. I asked my mum to take him now and she said were taking him tomorrow and to give him more water and milk.

She has to come home early and take him t the emergency vet tonight. It doesn't sound like he is going to make it another 24 hours. Call your aunty or best friend, or anyone who can drive.
