I've always loved cats but for various reasons have never been able to have a cat. Last summer I moved with my boyfriend, Jon. About a month later I was visiting my aunt and her father, who is kind of like an adopted grandfather to me (he's a vet and I wanted to be one for a while). She had asked me in the past if I wanted Simon but I couldn't take him. Apparently things had reached the point that he had to be completely separated from the other cats (big litter box issues) and was living at the clinic until she built her barn making him an outdoor cat. I had known him his whole life and he had been indoors after someone brought him and his brothers to a clinic because their mother had abandoned them. I jumped at the opportunity after checking with my boyfriend first.

He has been a joy. He is a nervous cat and took a while to completely adjust. I think the awful winter helped since the warmest area was in the basement and we all spent most of our time there. We are currently working on harness training him. He will walk on a leash but where he wants and not with you. We mostly take him out at night to diminish negative distractions, all the kids and dogs in yards.

His personality is like a mix of a cat and a dog. He loves being with us. He'll watch tv or videos on the computer with us. He loves watching my boyfriend play video games. Now that we are leaving some of the windows open he has taken to sitting in some of them, even when they don't have a view.

Only downside is I can't get another cat with him, but he is dog friendly. My aunt's one dog acts as a surrogate mom for anything she fosters. She'd make a great mom if she wasn't spayed.

My boyfriend wants to get a Persian, Pug, Frenchie, Boston Terrior, Aussie, and Border Collie. I'd love to have another cat or two, a terrier, and a Doberman. I also want to live somewhere where I can make a screened in garden for the cats to go out in.

He's so handsome! I think you have a Maine Coon/mix.  He looks like it, and what you said about his cat/dog personality sounds as such. At any rate, he's a beauty, and so lucky to have you!
