Licking until bald

Hello,

My cat has licked the fur away in a small area on her right side, and I can see/feel a small scab - may have been bitten by a bug. It makes sense that she cleaned the area if it was a big - so should I be worried that the fur is all gone in that patch?

Keep an eye on it, the bite may be a spider's bite.  You don't give your location, so I can only guess.  I am in Florida, and I have never known of a spider to bite any of my cats, but it could happen.  If the scab doesn't heal in two or three days, or becomes red or angry looking, get to the vet pronto.
