Hi Everyone

So as many of you probably know, I was in a horrible wreck in October, and I am just now starting to recover. One of the saddest things is, we found out I was highly allergic to cats and they shut my lungs down because of so much allergen and asthma.......... So We had to rehome smokie. Since then it has been research, reasarch, research...... and I narrowed it down to a list of cat breeds that are less- allergenic than others, I came up with Bengals, Siamese, Russian Blues, and Burmese. I happened to know several friends that had those cats......... so I spent time with them. They all bothered me except the Bengal and Russian Blue......... so we decided, to get another cat- but only if we could find one of those 2 breeds. We had been search for months and months, and nothing. All we could find were mixes, and I wasn't sure how those would react. So our friend called us yesterday (Saturday) and knew we had been seeking, and said "WHy don't we just go to the shelter and look, it can't hurt". So I agreed. We walked in the shelter, and I immediately knew our kitten was there. She is a beautiful Russian Blue, and reached out for me, pawing through the cage. Little one is 7 weeks old.......... :) I picked her up and it was kitty love........... and so far she hasn't really bothered my asthma or allergies. I have had allergies and asthma problems since we got her, but I also spent an extended period of time around the other cats, so I don't think it is her...  Anyway, we decided on the name Xena....... and it works because she is so energetic, jumping, and ninja like....... So here are some pics we wanted to share.with you... She is healthy little baby girl........ :)

I have asthma and allergies too, but I'm lucky enough to not react to cats. I had to return some rats I had once tho. :/ I'm sorry you had to rehome your other cat. That must have been really hard... :(

This little girl is just adorable! She reminds me of my little russian blue mix when she was a baby.  (and I love the name btw! :p)

It was really hard. I cried for weeks and didn't even want to come on the forum. But I am doing much better now with this little addition to our family! She even seems to somehow help with the chronic physical pain I now have.

I'm glad she's helping! Cat's, I think, are the best helpers!

Whenever all my stuff flares up they stay by my side all the time. And one of my cats LOVES to watch Xena with me. I think it's because of all the flips... :p She sits in front of the TV and just stares.
