Good morning and TGIF!

I just got back from a site inspection on a property. It was glorious. The sun is shining and I had my windows down, had the moon roof open, had the stereo blaring (Tom Petty) and just cruised on out. I love getting out and about and it's something I don't get to do all that often, especially when the days are as gorgeous as today is. I was able to get a little bit of a walk in, took some pictures, and chatted with the farmer for a while. And then I met a proud mama cat and her kittens! It just doesn't get any better than that. That's what I love about my job, getting outside on a beautiful summer day. Oh, and I forgot to mention.....the lady of the house gave me some blueberry muffins to bring back to work! Now, how cool is that?!

So, my question today is for those of us who work outside of the home. What is your job? What do you really like about your job? And what do you dislike about your job? Are you happy there?

I sort of have a job. My Mother in law owns a fabulous womens accessories shop. She sells scarves, wallets, handbags, costume jewellery and gifts. We swap jobs. She looks after my kids and I look after her shop. It's great for us both. She gets time at home with her Grandkids and I get time with other adults. I get dressed in nice clothes, wear some makeup and have a really lovely time. I'm at the shop now doing my Saturday morning stint. There really isn't anything I don't like about it.

l love my job! The hours are long, but l get 4 days off every week. The things l like about it are:

The people! The gang is awesome, we have a lot of laughs.

The work itself. lt's ever changing, no two days are alike. There's a lot to do, decisions to make, responsibilities.

The pay

The atmosphere. We have a really supportive, open, embracing climate that is encouraged from the top down. lt's a pleasure to go to work every day. Although l do enjoy the days off

I'm happy at work.  I work for a close friend so it's a great atmosphere, the hours are flexible, the pay is good, the work is interesting.  Perfect.

You didn't mention what you actually do, I'm curious since you're happy there

Ha!  l didn't, did l? lol

l'm one of the Process Engineering group in charge of monitoring and keeping our various processes under control. Our final product is the chips that go into the cartridges to test blood at point of care used by the i-Stat. So we start with bare silicon wafers and operations builds each layer for each product type, up to the finished product. They dice them into individual chips, and pass them on to the next group for inspect, test, or further printing.

That does sound interesting but it's all Greek to me

Ooo that sounds like a nice way to get paid!

I have a part-time job and work from home, I take care of the administrative work for a non-profit society. I love it, I like to organize, make contacts, cut through red tape... In the mornings I pour my coffee, sit on the sofa, and open the laptop to work, then put it aside when I've had enough. In the winter with the Pacific storms raging outside, I'm grateful I can stay in and work.

I have a little folder with a few paper documents but 99.9% of the job is done on the laptop which is pretty cool.

I work in the financial crimes industry. I absolutely LOVE the analysis and research associated with it, I've spent LONG LONG hours working by choice because of this.I dislike the uh..I guess office politics is the best way to put it. And since I feel "they" have eyes everywhere, that's all I'll say about that lol. Aside from that, I am very happy to be there and the company treats us great, the politics varies from department to department and it's not always like that.
