Has he been stimulated at all? Young kittens don't pee or poo on their own, so you need to simulate mom's cleaning them with a moist, warm washcloth by gently wiping their bum area. Are there pet stores (or even some grocery stores) that may have some kitten replacement formula? Do you have any vets or rescues nearby who may be able to help and have experience bottle feeding little ones? Why aren't you able to take him to the vet? Chances are if you don't have experience with kitten care and explain that, they may accept it and care for it themselves.

You can probably get more info at the pregnant cats and kittens forums where lots of people rescue young kittens as well. Good luck!

A kitten needs to be kept warm in order to feed. Do you have a heating pad or hot water bottle you can place in the nest?

Just make sure when you do have a heat source near the kitten that the kitten can crawl away from the heat if needed. Yes he must be kept warm but you also don't want to burn him or get him to hot.

Make sure you don't turn him over to feed. Feed in a natural position for him like if he was nursing with his feet down. Hope that makes sense.

You could also try putting a little sugar water or honey on your finger and swab the inside of his mouth with it.  Sometimes these little guys blood sugar will get too low.

Try just putting a little on his lips.  If his blood sugar is low it won't take much and hopefully a little will get into his system.

That is a good sign.  Just keep him warm and hopefully he will come around enough to feed.  If the choice is between cow's milk and goat's milk you will want to use the goat's milk.

Just wanted to emphasize this again.  Feed "belly down", head slightly tilted; not cradled or on the back like a human baby.

Hope the little guy pulls through.

I have a big feeling he is not really sleeping but is dehydrated and going downhill fast.

I want to walk you through this okay? We need to save this baby.

You have not given any idea of age either, can the baby walk?

Is he breathing with his mouth open?

Okay you said when you found him he was shaking, so it tells me he is at least 3 weeks old.

He needs to be woken up, get the syringe and warm water, add a couple drops of honey or Karo syrup, even pancake syrup if that is what you have.

Raise his head and from the side, gently open his mouth enough to get the syringe into the side, you are going to very slowly put very small amts into his cheek area, NOT down his throat.

He should resist it like he doesn't want you to do it, but he must have water asap.

Continue doing this until his tummy feels more round okay?

Once you give this please let us know how he is acting.

I am sorry.  You tried to save him which is more than many would do.   It doesn't take much for these little guys to get too far behind to rally around.
